Season 3 Episode 9: The Sins of Our Friends

Spoiler Warning:

After resurrecting Greg and Scott, Mike and Nick are kidnapped by a drug cartel

who Greg and Scott had been working for before their deaths. When they find out about this, Greg and Scott decide they must forgive their friends and rescue them.

This episode is one of my absolute favorites in the series. It was fun as hell to film and it still makes me laugh like crazy when I watch it. Nick’s attempt at emulating Liam Neeson in Taken, only to be knocked out mid-sentence at the beginning gets me every Goddamn time, as does the scene where while they’re tied up we go back and forth between Mike and Nick’s thoughts. Mike is going over kidnapping statistics in his thoughts in a homage to the show, “Burn Notice.” Nick on the other hand is reciting lines from, “50 Shades of Grey,” in his thoughts. Plus, Nick’s piss poor attempt at escaping where he tries to bumrush one of the cartel members, only to get clocked with the butt of a rifle and the scene where Scott and I both try to sneak into the cartel’s base with me trying to get in by pretending to be a Jehovah’s Witness and Scott trying to sneak in inside a cardboard box a la Metal Gear Solid are just perfect.

Storyline Update:

After realizing they were assholes towards Mike and Nick, Greg and Scott attempt to reconcile with them, only to discover a drug cartel they used to do business with has kidnapped them and is holding them for ransom. Greg and Scott then try to rescue their friends, only for Mike to escape on his own while the guards are distracted beating on Nick after he decided to try a dumbass escape attempt. They kill the guards and rescue Nick and as thanks, Mike and Nick extend an offer to be friends with them again, which Greg and Scott accept.

Final Thoughts:

Easily one of the funniest episodes in the series and a real delight, this episode is fantastic.
